Manage daily accounting operations and controls for derivative portfolio within Owned Assets – establish and maintain strong system of internal controls; ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory reporting and accounting requirments, proactively search for efficiencey opportunities Manage relationships with business partners – ensure we understand customers needs, keep current on new investments/derivatives, understand internal and external reporting needs Assist in accounting policy implementation for investments as needed – develop procedures, establish controls, ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory requirments Lead, support and train accounting staff Establishes and maintain a strong system of internal controls within an ever-changing environment. Ensures accounting and reporting comply with the financial and business requirements. Ensures all investment-related data is accurately analyzed, valued and reflected in corporate financial reporting such as; the 10-Q, 10-K, Earnings release, Investor Relations website,management materials, NAIC statutory filings, and Board of Director reports. Manage daily investment accounting for various products structures (multiple class, multi-manager, proprietary and non-proprietary separate accounts.) Leads and develops a team to ensure resources are deployed to meet organizational needs. Arranges formal training or other experiences to foster learning and development. Develops goals and cascade goals to ensure alignment with the overall strategy. Conducts performance reviews of staff aligned with company policy and guidelines. Establishes and manages relationships with external business clients and other internal business partners. Qualifications 4 year accounting degree plus 4 – 6 years of investment and derivative accounting experience preferred Strong business knowledge derivative instruments and their accounting treatment Strong written and oral communication skills and flexibility. Proven ability to lead through change and strong ability to problem solve Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy Capable of taking a position on complex issues and acting upon the decision.
